Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you visit sunny.jonwal (https://sunnykumar.tech), operated by SunnyKumar Jonwal ("I", "me", "this website"). It applies to all visitors, including readers of the blog and anyone viewing advertisements served on this site.

This policy is written to be accurate about what this specific site actually does — it does not list services or data practices that aren't in use. If that changes (for example, when advertising or analytics is added), this page will be updated accordingly.

Information you provide

This website does not have a contact form, comment system, or user account/login for visitors. If you choose to email me directly, whatever you include in that email — your address, name, and message content — is received in my personal inbox and is subject to my email provider's own handling, not this website's database. I don't sell, rent, or share that correspondence with third parties.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this server and its infrastructure automatically log some technical information on every visit, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring URL (the page that linked you here)
  • Date and time of each request

This data is standard web server log information used for security, debugging, and understanding general traffic patterns. It is not cross-referenced with any personal profile of you.

Cookies and similar technologies

See the Cookie Policy for full detail. In short: this site sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for session handling and security) automatically, and stores a light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device.

If advertising is enabled on this site (see below), Google and its advertising partners may also set cookies for that purpose.

Google AdSense

This website may display advertisements served through Google AdSense. If and when advertising is active, Google and its partner vendors may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites, and to measure ad performance.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage your personalized advertising settings at adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices.

Analytics

This website does not currently use Google Analytics or any other visitor-analytics service. If that changes, this section will be updated to disclose exactly what is collected and how to opt out.

Third-party services in use

The following third-party services are currently used by this site:

  • Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's font servers, which means your browser makes a direct request to Google when loading a page. Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
  • Google AdSense — planned, not yet active (see above).

Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and Instagram in the navigation, footer, and Contact page are plain outbound links you choose to click — no data is shared with those platforms until you do.

How information is used

  • Operating and securing the website
  • Diagnosing technical issues
  • Understanding general traffic and usage patterns
  • Responding to emails you send directly
  • Displaying advertisements, where enabled

Data retention

Server logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operational purposes, then rotated out. Since this site stores no form submissions or user accounts, there is no visitor personal-data database to retain beyond standard server logs.

Data security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect this website and its infrastructure — including HTTPS encryption on every page — against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and no guarantee of absolute security can be made.

Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights over personal information collected about you, which can include the right to request access, correction, or deletion, or to object to certain processing. Because this site collects very little personal information in the first place (see above), most of these requests will simply confirm that no such data is held. To make a request regarding any information you've sent by email, contact the address below.

Children's privacy

This website is a professional software engineering and cybersecurity portfolio and blog, and is not directed toward children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from children.

External links

This site links to external websites (GitHub repositories, documentation, other blogs, social profiles). Those sites have their own privacy practices, and I'm not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, particularly as new features (such as analytics or advertising) are added. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
